Transient Data Acquisition and Ethernet Communication Interface

The 3500/22M Transient Data Interface combines the rack interface functions of the 3500/20 Rack Interface Module with communication processor capabilities for collecting machinery monitoring data. The module interfaces with M-series monitors such as 3500/40M and 3500/42M to acquire steady-state values and transient dynamic waveform data.

The TDI provides standard static data capture capability. When used with an optional Channel Enabling Disk, the module can collect dynamic and high-resolution transient data for diagnostic analysis. The integrated communication processor transfers collected data through an Ethernet connection to compatible host software.

The 3500/22 module operates outside the automatic machinery protection signal path. Although it provides rack-level communication and data handling functions, it does not affect normal monitor operation or protection logic execution. Each 3500 rack requires one TDI or RIM module installed in Slot 1 adjacent to the power supply modules.
